Austrian hauliers demand 5-points relief programme

Trade association chairmann Danninger „The overdue relief programme for our line of industry are long in coming“

The Austrian hauliers are demanding actions instead of the stalling tactics they have faced so far,“, Franz Danninger, chairman of the trade association for the carriers of goods, voices his discontent in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) regarding the stalemate in the domestic traffic policy. Only when it comes to charges decisions and implementations thereof happen within reasonable time, be it with driving bans, toll increases or fees for minor offences. The more than overdue relief measures for the hauliers are nowhere to be seen.

Against this background the representatives for this line of industry are demanding the immediate implementation of the following 5 relief measures to improve location conditions from policy makers:
1) Reduction of  truck toll to compensate for losses because of standing times at the borders.
2) Reduction of administrative efforts for vehicle registration
3) Repeal of truck “night 60s“.
4) Possibility for the legal parking of a trailer without truck on ASFINAG parking lots
5) Effective implementation of cabotage control provisions
Our suggestions have been put on the table a long time ago and need to be realised“, demands Franz Danninger.
