Five members and 10 depots: ELVIS Austria to start in March 2014

With the establishment of ELVIS Austria, based in St. Lorenzen (Muerztal) the starting signal has been given for the the establishment of an LTL and FTL network in Austria analogous to the German ELVIS network. With the aid of ten depots the five founding members Johann Huber Spedition und Transportgesellschaft mbH, Johann Weiss GmbH, Scheffknecht Transporte GmbH, Koch Spedition KG and E.L.V.I.S. Europäischer Ladungs-Verbund Internationaler Spediteure Aktiengesellschaft want to provide a nationwide offering.

The international central hubs are located in Salzburg (approximately 2,500 m²) and in Wiener Neudorf (approximately 4,000 m²) and are operated by Johann Weiss GmbH. Norbert Adler is the managing director of ELVIS Austria (Johann Huber Spedition und Transportgesellschaft mbH). Also European LTL and FTL with focus on transport to Southern and Eastern Europe are accepted.

The ELVIS AG (European association of international freight forwarders) is the largest transport network in Europe – thanks to more than 100 partners at 176 locations in 20 countries. Founded in 2006, the cooperation has a fleet of more than 12,000 trucks, which move around 6 million tonnes of cargo per month, also with over 2,500 jumbo units. The fleet is managed centrally via a location in Alzenau, Bavaria.
