Construction starts on Great Bear big shed

Construction has started on Great Bear Distribution’s new 479,000 sq ft facility at Derbyshire’s Markham Vale. The new site is expected to complete by October 2017.

The third party logistics provider, owned by Culina Group, already has a distribution centre located at Markham Vale East, which completed last summer.

“It’s fantastic that we are already off to a flying start and into the construction stage for the Markham Vale North unit,” said Peter Yarwood, regional operations director, Great Bear Distribution. “We were extremely impressed with the delivery of the first unit at Markham Vale East, and have complete faith that the second will be delivered by Henry Boot Developments on time, on budget, and to a high standard.”

Once the development is complete, Great Bear will occupy around 1 million sq ft of high specification distribution space at Markham Vale.
