DB Schenker is doing more business with Volkswagen OTLG
Extanded partnership: Volkswagen OTLG transfers further transport logistics tasks to DB Schenker Logistics in Germany
Volkswagen Original Teile Logistik GmbH & Co. KG (OTLG) has transferred further transport logistics tasks to DB Schenker Logistics. Since a few weeks ago the logistics provider supplies also the partner companies of the Volkswagen group in the regions of Chemnitz and Magdeburg.
The Chemnitz and Magdeburg sites of Schenker Deutschland AG took over transportation of original parts, accessories and tyres to partner companies of the Volkswagen group by the end of 2014. At the same time the existing contracts with the business locations in Güstrow, Terminal Neubrandenburg (since 1992), and Dresden (since 2007) have been extended for four more years.
The hub of after-sales logistics in the newly-formed German states is at the OTLG sales office in Brandenburg (Ludwigsfelde). Until 10 pm. the vehicles of DB Schenker pick up the original equipment and accessory parts for Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Seat and Skoda and transport them to the office terminals. Distribution starts by 1 am.
In order to avoid any delays in the partner companies before work starts, the delivery must be completed by 7 am. Parts ordered before 10 am. can be delivered by OTLG on the same day before 3.30 pm (Same Day Delivery) in the catchment areas Chemnitz and Dresden
In the newly-formed German states, the delivery of DB Schenker covers about 70 percent of the total area. Jörg Schilling, director of the Dresden office (overland, logistics), confirms even more coverage for Saxony: „Almost every original part of the five brands VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, ordered by Saxon partners with OTLG is passed through our hands. “
The Schenker Deutschland AG offices in Appenweiwer, Cologne, Passau and Ulm are also involved in the VW spare parts logistics. From seven locations in Germany OTLG supplies nationwide service partners of Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Seat and Škoda with original parts, accessories and other services.
