ECL and Green Cargo enter into an intermodal cooperation

Intermodal Cooperation between European Cargo Logistics and Green Cargo to offer a complete European service

European Cargo Logistics (ECL), a subsidiary of Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft mbH, and the Swedish railway company Green Cargo have agreed to cooperate in the intermodal sector. By linking their intermodal connections, they are setting a milestone in the development of both companies’ transport services. All of the international connections offered under this cooperation agreement can be booked directly via ECL for the entire route, including cross-border connections and ferry links.

Green Cargo is a leading national and international rail freight company. Its network serves some 40 intermodal terminals in Sweden and Norway. Together with ECL’s intermodal links in Germany, from/to Luxemburg, France, Spain and Italy the cooperation of these two companies forms a pan-European intermodal network. Under the premise of reducing CO2 emissions, it will be possible to move trailers, containers or swap bodies from road to rail up to 2,500 km.

Tobias Behncke, responsible for Intermodal Services, ECL: „We are glad to make a contribution together with Green Cargo to the development of intermodal networks in Europe and offer integrated solutions via Lübeck, for example from Duisburg to Stockholm.“

“This cooperation is in line with our strategic approach to develop European end-to-end transport solutions together with our corridor partners,“ adds Jörg Ullrich, Managing Director ECL.

European Cargo Logistics GmbH is a leading European logistics provider in the segment of paper and forest products, and has been operating at the LĂĽbeck site for more than 40 years. ECL is a pan-European, industry-independent operator of road and rail services, intermodal transport and forwarding services. ECL is a 100%-subsidiary of LĂĽbecker Hafen-Gesellschaft mbH.
