Expanded logistics area to strengthen the Zipf brewery

EUR 2 million-investment at the Zipf location in Upper Austria to make logistics processes faster and more secure

Responding to the growth and related capacity bottleneck, the Zipf brewery has expanded its warehouse and loading area. In a major project they invested more than EUR 2 million into the redesign of the logistics area in 2014 and 2015.
The investment at the Zipf location was mainly meant to expand the loading lane from 1,500 m² to 2,600 m², and the warehouse: 720 m² of space were added to the hall, creating additional space for 20,000 barrels or 100,000 boxes.
Markus Liebl, CEO Brau Union Österreich, and Günther Seeleitner Master Brewer Zipfer said on the occasion of the opening ceremony: „This expansion of the Zipf brewery is very important for us. It allows us to optimally store beer barrels and boxes and prepare them for shipment to our customers. Particularly now in early summer, we are thus well equipped to meet all customer and consumer requirements. 160 employees are also happy about this boost for the brewery location in Zipf!”
The history of the brewery in Zipf dates back to 1858. Today the Zipf brewery is a large brewery and a member of the Brau Union Österreich. A total of twelve types of beer of the Zipfer brand are brewed at the site in Zipf. They are distributed to 26 countries worldwide. Since 2011 also the popular Austrian beer brand Edelweiss is brewed at this site. In total the brewery has a capacity of about 1 million hectolitres. Continuous investments are made at this site, such as the recent one in the logistics area.
