Expedited UPS Standard Service ex Austria

With immediate effect customers from several areas in Austria can benefit from optimised road transports to Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The transit time for shipments with UPS Standard Service e.g. from Vienna to Milan now takes two instead of previously three days.

“Entrepreneurs in Austria need to be able to rely on a punctual delivery to their customers in the right place and at the right price. Therefore, we have expedited the shipping times of our least expensive service by up to 24 hours,” Nando Cesarone, President of UPS Europe, states in a press release.

The shorter transit time of the UPS Standard Service are part of an investment plan budgeted with USD 2 billion to improve the European network in the period between 2014 and 2019. One third of the program has already been completed, and the construction of new facilities in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom have been announced.

In September 2016, UPS opened an expanded parcel center in Innsbruck, increasing the sorting capacity of the facility from 1,000 to 2,500 parcels per hour. The capacity expansion in Tyrol had followed the construction of a new location in greater Graz in 2015. In 2016 UPS expanded its network of 25,000 UPS access points across Europe and North America to Austria. In Vienna there are currently more than 130 UPS access points.
