FELB launched East World Express

New rail transport service for containers from Duisburg to Russia, the CIS and Eastern Asia

In Duisburg, Far East Land Bridge (FELB) presented its latest product on 27 April. As of now the East World Express (EWE) offers weekly departures from Duisburg to destinations in eastern Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, Japan and South Korea. Container dimensions 40‘ HC COC and 20‘ BV COC of a maximum total weight of 30 tonnes are accepted for transport.

Thomas Kargl, CEO Far East Land Bridge, presented the East World Express as an alternative for transport on the road, air or also on the seaway. Transit time along the route of the Trans Siberian Railway to is 17 to 21 days, depending on the finish determination. The door-to-door offer addresses customers and business partners among international forwarders.

In 2009 Far East Land Bridge started operating its first regular container transports on the railway along the Trans Siberian route, and moved a volume of 47,000 TEU (2014: 30,000 TEU) in 2015. About 100 employees (50 of them working at the headquarters in Vienna)  generated sales of USD 110 million. Moreover, a new office was established recently in Duisburg to support the East World Express.
