Freight forwarders in Pakistan to suspend business

The industry would be unable to bear and sustain the new tax regulation of the Pakistan government

The Government of Pakistan, via the Finance Act 2015 has decided to impose an 8 per cent minimum tax on Turnover for several services based industries including the likes of freight forwarders, air cargo agents and logistic providers.

Members of Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) and Air Cargo Agents Association of Pakistan (ACAAP) therefore have decided that from 1st September 2015 all activities including sales, shipping line coordination, DO issuance, Airway Bill/Bill of Lading issuance amongst other activities will be suspended for an indefinite period of time.
