Gefco continues to steer on a path of growth in Romania

Romanian company of the Gefco Group celebrates its 10-years anniversary and consolidates its position as the country’s second-largest logistics enterprise

Gefco Romania achieved a turnover of EUR 52 million in 2014. This means 10 per cent up on 2013 and a tenfolg increase on the first year of business operation.

Gefco Romania is one of the major service providers for the local automotive industry, serving more than 300 customers with its all-round expertise in supply chain management. A clear evidence of the company’s leadership in the automotive logistics is that Gefco Romania carries more than a third of the vehicles produced in Romania – about 155,000 units.

The multi-modal solutions of the company include the use of eight own logistics platforms in the country and direct access to the Black Sea via the port of Constanza. Pierre-Jean Lorrain, Regional Director adds: „Our Romanian subsidiary generates 7 per cent of the region’s total turnover.”

In 2014 Gefco Romania was able to expand its leading position and its status as a trustworthy logistics partner. The subsidiary has been cooperating with IPSO since 2007, organising door-to-door transport of equipment of John Deere, an agricultural machinery manufacturer, from the plant in Germany to Romania.

Jérôme Chevrolet, the recently appointed CEO of the Romanian company wants to keep the pace of growth also in 2015 and put the focus on Romania as a regional hub.
