Geis becomes a big player in Poland with ET Logistik

Takeover of ET Logistik Sp. Z o.o. adds 300 employees at eight Polish branches to the Geis Group’s network in Central and Eastern Europe

The internationally operating Geis Group expands its network in Poland: Effecitve 5 January this year, the logistics provider took over 100 per cent of the shares of ET Logistik Sp. z o.o. (M&M Logistik until 2009). Established in 1995 the company based in Warsaw is specialising in national and international land transport and contract logistics solutions. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchasing price.

Last year ET Logistik’s about 300 employees generated sales of around EUR 25 million from overland transport and contract logistics. There are a total of eight own operational sites in Bydgoszcz, Jaworzno, Poznań, Pruszcz Gdański, Pruszków, Rzeszów, Wola Rakowa / Łódź (stroke) and Wrocław with more than 43,000 m² storage and handling area.

In the land transport segment, ET Logistik transported groupage, part and full loads and is also using temperature-controlled trucks. ET Logistik provides a comprehensive national distribution network for general cargo in Poland through eight own locations and eleven subcontractor depots.

ET Logistik operates complex contract logistics from five of its sites. The comprehensive logistics services, including value-added services such as packaging, labelling and reverse logistics, are offered both to the non-food and the food industry. Therefore all logistics centres have temperature-controlled areas, most are certified according to HACCP.

Michal Martinovič, Luboš Scheinost and Adam Kwiatkowski form the new Management Board of ET Logistik. Adam Kwiatkowski is also Country Manager and Managing Director at Geis PL. The former Managing Partner of ET Logistik, Prof. Dr. Wojciech Paprocki will still have an advisory function for the management. The company name ET Logistik will be maintained as well.

With their transport and logistics network of now a total of 17 locations with nearly 500 employees Geis is one of the largest logistics providers in Poland. The company also completes its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, providing a comprehensive nationwide network in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Geis Group has been active in Poland since 2006 – initially in air and ocean freight. By mid-2013, they took over the Polish national company of Quehenberger Logistics. In early 2014 Geis also acquired Logwin Solutions Poland Sp. z o.o. The two companies operate now as Geis PL Sp. z o.o.
