Global restructuring with Hellmann group

The Hellmann Worldwide Logistics group was rearranged structurally and organisationally. The objective is global restructuring of the divisions air and ocean freight, overland transport (truck & rail) and contract logistics, and in line with that optimising customer and delivery processes and sustainable growth in results.

At the same time, a generation change was launched and the management team was enlarged. The Hellmann family will continue to head the company. Given the increasing number of family shareholders, however, they decided to change the legal form from GmbH & Co. KG to SE & Co. KG. This shall provide an appropriate framework for the interaction of family and business.

The two managing shareholders, Jost and Klaus Hellmann will be part of the three-members board of the SE also in the future. Dr. Thomas Knecht will fill the position of the CEO. He was appointed to the management board last November. “After 40 years of active and successful cooperation, it is time to introduce a younger management team and to hand over the management. Nevertheless, it is important for us to play an active role in the board for the coming years of the transition,” says Jost Hellmann.

The Hellmann Group today is an international logistics company with almost 250 locations in 56 countries and more than 12,500 employees. The 2015 financial year ended with an increase in turnover of nearly 4 percent to around EUR 3.1 billion.
