Huntsman places long term tetrachloride transport contract to Den Hartogh

Den Hartogh Logistics has a long working relationship and is a preferred logistic service provider to other Huntsman businesses

Huntsman Pigments and Additives, a business division of Huntsman Corporation, and Den Hartogh Liquid Logistics have signed a 20 year contract for the lease of 61 tank containers custom built for the transport of tetrachloride.

Following a competitive tender process, Huntsman Pigments and Additives appointed Den Hartogh to provide the tanks required to meet the new regulated specifications for tanks transporting tetrachloride. The specifications for the tanks were agreed after visits to Huntsman Pigments and Additives at the Greatham, UK, site and to European based tank builder, Van Hool, Belgium.

The commitment shown during the project phase by the Den Hartogh and Van Hool teams to meet the high level specifications of these dedicated tanks led Huntsman Pigments and Additives to appoint Den Hartogh with this long term contract.

For the maintenance of these tanks, Den Hartogh will work with Isotank Ltd in Hartlepool, UK, who have many years of experience in maintaining Huntsman’s current fleet of tanks.

The tanks will be delivered in time to meet the new  regulations that come into force on Jan 1 2017 for tanks transporting tetrachloride.
