Inauguration of the expanded agrarian terminal in Aschach

On June 11th, the expanded and converted agrarian terminal in Aschach/Danube (Upper Austria) was officially put into operation with a big festival of agriculture. RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria AG has invested a total of EUR 18 million in the construction project, of which EUR 2 million for the protection of the residents. 28 silos with 58,000 tonnes of storage volume were built, and 10 employees were added, increasing the total number of employees at the site to a total of 60, including 4 apprentices.

With 41 silos with a storage capacity of 150,000 tonnes for all common grains, rape and soya beans, the RWA site in Aschach an der Donau is now Austria’s largest grain chamber. The expanded plant with connection to road, rail and waterway transport also includes a new office building with integrated laboratory and two truck scales, a new machine house and a new grain drying machine. The transshipment capacity is now about 600 tonnes per hour on the land side and about 200 tonnes per hour for ships.
