IRF takes over Thetford freight forwarder

Dutch group IRF has bought Thetford-based operator UFS from owner Ray Ludlum who is retiring.

UFS operates services to Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. IRF. has been a well established transport partner of UFS for 20 years. In a statement IRF said the acquisition was a logical step in the expansion of both IRF and UFS.

As part of the IRF group UFS has access to the IRF facilities in the Netherlands and Germany and the IRF group can now list UK locations at Thetford, Manchester and Dover in addition to its own established location in Felixstowe.
