John Lewis picks Clipper for click and collect

John Lewis has selected Clipper to fulfil more than 40,000 click and collect orders per week, with further expansion of the service expected.

From autumn, Clipper will be responsible for customer click and collect orders to more than 100 Waitrose shops per week. Dino Rocos, operations director at John Lewis, said: “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and as their shopping habits continue to evolve, our approach to delivery needs to be responsive to this.

“We have worked with Clipper Logistics for the last seventeen years; as a retail sector leader, they are ideally placed to help us respond to our growing demand for omni-channel order fulfilment.” John Lewis is expected to expand the agreement with the 3PL, though final terms are yet to be decided.

Steve Parkin, chairman of Clipper, said: “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with John Lewis to create a unique platform to support the rapidly growing click and collect customer proposition.“

In March, the retailer agreed terms with Clipper on a ten-year contract to operate a 300,000 sq ft distribution centre, which is expected to be completed in the second half of 2016.
