Kuehne + Nagel sets a milestone in Greater Vienna
Symbolic ground-breaking ceremony for the new cross docking facility of Kuehne + Nagel (Austria) in the logistics centre in Hagenbrunn
The commercial property, which shall be completed by January 2016 offers about 5,300 m² and 33 loading bays as well as office workplaces for approximately 50 employees. The administrative office in Vienna with about 150 employees will move into new premises at an as yet undetermined location in Austria’s capital.
From this site north of Vienna Kuehne + Nagel will provide national and international land transport for groupage, part and full loads. In addition, in Hagenbrunn the logistics service provider will concentrate to offer industry-specific business solutions. The plant will comply with modern requirements and safety standards.
„Hagenbrunn in Lower Austria is – thanks to its proximity to Vienna and further connections to western Austria, and the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia – the optimal location to operate in the most important markets in the region customers,“ says Franz Braunsberger, Managing Director of the Kuehne + Nagel company in Austria.
„The logistics centre north of Vienna is the most modern of its kind in Austria and provides additional opportunities for expansion. In 2016, a further 30,000 m² of warehouse space will be built. The expansion of Kuehne + Nagel, a global successful logistics company, is a special honour and consolidates the strategic position of the site,“ says Dr. Erik Plätzer, CEO of the builder company kara Handelsgesellschaft.
