Linz Airport has great ambitions for airfreight

On March 15, the Aviation Day took place before around 120 gueasts at the Linz Airport. The symposium of the air cargo industry was focused on the expected manifold growth of airfreight volume until 2050.

blue danube airport Linz took this event, which was jointly organised with the Austrian Air Transport Association, as an opportunity to presentat its services for the customers of the airfreight industry. They stressed in particular on the highly flexible support of business partners by airlines, freight forwarders, sales agents and RSS providers.

Upper Austria’s governor Josef Pühringer reaffirmed the major role of logistics for the industry in Upper Austria: “This is the center of the export sector, accounting for 25 percent of Austria’s industrial production.  Fast connections to the global markets are available here.”

In 2016 approximately 45.000 tonnes of airfreight (incl. road feeder services) were handled at Linz Airport. The companies involved in handling this volume have more than 500 employees.
