Lübecker Hafen appoints Sebastian Jürgens to the management

Former HHLA manager Sebastian Jürgens to assume responsibility for the sales and marketing segment in the Lübeck port company

Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft (LHG) gets a prominent new member in the top management. The shareholders have appointed Sebastian Jürgens as managing director for sales and marketing of LHG. He will enter the company on January 1, 2014 and form the dual leadership with managing director Ulfbenno Kruger. Jürgens takes over the function of Heinrich Beckmann, who will leave the company with the expiry of his contract with LHG in the coming year.

Sebastian Jürgens (50), was born in Hamburg. Following an apprenticeship at a bank, he studied law and philosophy in Munich. Until 2011 the logistics expert was a board member of HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, where he was responsible for logistics and intermodal transport. Previously, Jürgens was at Deutsche Bahn AG for many years, responsible for intermodal transport at DB Schenker Rail.

„With Sebastian Jürgens LHG wins a proven expert for the management of the company in a difficult economic environment,“ agree mayor Bernd Saxe as chairman of the general meeting and Georg Kulenkampff as the representative of the co-shareholder.
