Lukoil Lubricants’ expansion of its location in the Lobau oil port is on target
Vienna to become a major hub for Lukoil; Raw material supply for the lubricant factory also by barge in the future
Following the ground-breaking ceremony with Vagit Alekperov, President of Lukoil, at the lubricant factory of Lukoil Lubricants, the construction of the new tank storage with multimodal connection to the railway and waterway advances visibly. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2015, the company informs in a press release.
From this date the lubricant factory in the Vienna Lobau oil port can also be supplied with raw material on the waterway. Lukoil Lubricants refines the raw material, producing high quality lubricants for any kind of mobility. In addition Lukoil Lubricants is investing into a fully automated fire fighting system, to guarantee state-of-the art technology also in terms of security. This million euro investment can guarantee the fire safety of this facility for the next decades. Also this project shall be completed by the end of this year.
The Russian Lukoil Lubricants group thus concentrates its major activities in Vienna. Capacity shall be more than doubled. Vienna is becoming a major hub for the Russian group. In the future Lukoil shall manage a turnover of about USD 40 billion in Vienna.
