Multinaut Donaulogistik and Benship sign cooperation agreement

Imperial Shipping Group and Benship Hungary now can provide cross-route logistics concepts in the inland and coastal shipping sector

Starting now, Imperial Shipping Holding GmbH (Duisburg) and Benship Hungary Kft. (Budapest) will cooperate on their respective routes. The partners signed a corresponding agreement in Duisburg on 14 January. Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH, a company of the Imperial Shipping Group headquartered in Vienna, will be in charge of the cooperation.

“Our new cooperation agreement will result in numerous synergies for our customers, such as in terms of chartering, transport between the Danube and the sea as well as logistics in the CIS states,” explains Peter Jedlicka, managing partner at Multinaut Donaulogistik. “This has the specific advantage that customers profit from the services and transport capacity of the respective partner,” adds Attila Bencsik, managing owner of Benship Hungary.

Imperial Shipping Group operates via its subsidiaries and affiliates in the inland and coastal shipping sector, primarily in Germany, Austria, France and the Benelux countries. Benship, a chartering company established in March 2014, operates in Hungary, the entire Danube region, on the Main, Rhine and Mosel as well as in the North Sea, Mediterranean and Black Sea region.

“In the framework of the cooperation we can provide cross-route logistics concepts and the client only has to deal with one party,” explains Jedlicka. Benship can fall back on Imperial’s connections to the West German canal and river system and Imperial can organise complete supply chains for its customers via inland vessel, seagoing vessel, truck and rail all the way to routes in northern Europe, the Black Sea region, CIS states, Near East and North Africa, thanks to Benship’s profound market know-how. Attila Bencsik substantiates: “For our customers, too, the cooperation with Imperial Shipping Group will make it easier to work up complete logistics concepts, including freight forwarding services, covering a larger geographic area.”

Multinaut Donaulogistik GmbH with locations in Vienna, WĂĽrzburg, Duisburg und Regensburg is part of the Imperial Shipping Group. The range of services encompasses all elements of the logistics chain, the purely carrier function with rented and privately owned vessels and performance of complex contract logistics tasks. Twelve staff members generate annual sales of around 30 million euros. The company transports approx. 1.5 million tons of dry bulk and general cargo every year. The fleet consists of 38 vessels with a load capacity of 750 to 2,900 tons. Aside from its focal point, Rhine-Main-Danube traffic, Multinaut Donaulogistik also ships goods via tributaries and canals in the entire European waterway network.
