New Air Regulations for Lithium Battery Transports

ATA has published an updated version of its Lithium Battery Guidance Document, reflecting changes in the 2017 regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by air.

The 20-page document explains the definitions and classification of different types of lithium battery and sets out the prohibitions and restrictions on their shipment by air. These rules are complex and have changed again this year, so the IATA document aims to provide a relatively clear summary of what shippers need to do. The document can be downloaded from the Iata website.
