Ontime Logistics open new major hub between east and west

Ontime Logistics air and sea forwarding freight specialist boosts its just in time-business by a new logistics facility in Sattledt (Upper Austria)

Salzburg-based express, air and sea freight specialist Ontime Logistics opens a new logistics facility at the motorways junction Sattledt, from where Austria as well as its eastern and western neighbouring countries can be served. On a total surface of about 15,000 m² they built 6,000 m² office and warehouse space and created 30 new jobs. The investment totals about EUR 7.5 million.

“We have been growing steadily in recent years and now decided to build on our own. This is the best location for a logistics facility in Austria. It meets exactly our requirements and is ideally suited for our tasks“, said the two Ontime Logistics managers Roland Schäffner and Kurt Posch.

Owing to their longstanding experience, the two logistics professionals have designed a hall where goods can be handled faster, more efficient and flexible. The transhipment area is therefore designed for cross docking services. Direct loading, short transport routes and their own warehouse shorten the handling time of the merchandises. Especially in just in time-business, to which Ontime Logistics has specialised, a sophisticated logistics system functioning system is of major importance.

„With the new company building a central hub for our national and international network was created,“ explains Kurt Posch. “From here we can supply Austria, but also operate daily express transports to markets in Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia and Slovenia. The Hub is ideally located between east and west,“ adds Roland Schäffner.

The numerous customers in the automotive, aircraft or mechanical engineering industry delivering quality products, require precise delivery. Therefore the company is 24/7, which also allows for continuous customs handling, to keep transport times as short as possible. Kurt Posch: „So we can pick up the goods later, but deliver them the next day nevertheless.“

Unlike airports, the new logistics facility in Sattledt is not dependent on external operators and is prepared for all orders, even spontaneous large-scale projects, which can be handled surprisingly fast and cost-efficient. This is particularly true for non-standard transports and heavy loads to which Ontime Logistics has specialized.

At its headquarters in Seekirchen am Wallersee (Salzburg), and its branches in Linz, Innsbruck, Vienna and Budapest Ontime Logistics employs about 100 persons. Customers are from the automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, plants and mechanical, movie and media industries.
