Packaging logisticians investing in southern Germany

dpl Weinzierl Verpackungen GmbH and Holz Weinzierl Fertigungen GmbH & Co. KG expand their production capacity in the Regensburg region

With a ground-breaking ceremony on 24 March dpl Weinzierl Verpackungen GmbH and Holz Weinzierl Fertigungen GmbH & Co. KG officially started the construction work on the new, modernised production facilities in Sinzing and Velburg (Neumarkt district). At both sites, the production capacity will be increased significantly. The total investment for the new buildings (2,000 m² Sinzing, 1,000m² Velburg) is around EUR 2.5 million.

According to the managers Hans-Peter Weinzierl and Peter Trapp the decisive factor for the major investment was the need for expansion and modernisation of the existing production area at both locations. The thus further optimised packaging solutions can secure, both the customer satisfaction as well as the existing jobs in the long-term workforce.

CEO Peter Trapp says: „The resulting economic stimulus for the Regensburg region and Neumarkt district are signifcant and mean the creation of a total of about 20 new jobs and the recruitment of five new trainees in a wide variety of apprenticeships.“

Evolved from a sawmill in the 1950s, Weinzierl Industrieverpackungen has become a specialist in transport and heavy goods packaging of all kinds, with locations in Bavaria, Hesse, Baden Württemberg and Saxony. The main customers come from machinery and plant engineering, but also everything related to container shipping is their daily business.

For about two years, the Weinzierl group of companies is associated with the duisport Group, the management company of the Port of Duisburg, the largest inland port in the world. The Duisport Group, and its subsidiary duisport packing logistics (dpl) is also one of the most prestigious packaging service providers.
