Port of Vienna is considering a project for automated driving

The Port of Vienna is considering establishing a test installation for the development of automated vehicles focusing on cargo transport. This shall support the development of Austrian expertise in the system and vehicle industry.

The range of automated driving includes different categories, ranging from driver assistance systems to fully automated driving without a driver. The project team sincerely invites those interested in the project and related topics to cooperate.

The Port of Vienna is a company of Wien Holding and has a direct connection to the three transport modes ship, railway and truck. Every year up to 8 million tonnes of goods are handled on the approximately 3 million m² logistics area. In addition to the companies of the Hafen Wien group, about 120 companies settled down on this site, including DB Schenker, Kuehne + Nagel, DHL and Rail Cargo Austria. A total of around 5,000 persons is working in the port of Vienna and the companies located there.
