Premiere for a 1,000 tonnes crane of Felbermayr Lifting Technology

Felbermayr Lifting Technology used its highest-performance equipment for the ‘turnaround‘ of the Petrom refinery in Ploiesti, Romania

Felbermayr Lifting Technology celebrated the successful start of its LR11000. The 1,000 tonnes crane, together with another heavy weight, had been used to lift a 358 tonnes butylenes splitter by the end of May. The spectacle took place at the Petrom refinery in Romania. As the lifting and transport services had been an exclusive order for Felbermayr, also seven heavy lift trucks and flat-bed trailers had been in continuous operation.

In the case of the turnaround of the Petrom refinery in Ploiesti, works concentrated on the FCC plant for the production of gasoline. In the course of these works four components weighing 81 to 358 tonnes per piece were transported and lifted.

“For the turnaround of the refinery in Ploiesti we used „Who’s Who“ of Felbermayr Lifting Technology,“ said Thomas Titura says about the order of Petrom, the Romanian OMV subsidiary, precisely 68 cranes and 22 lifting platforms with altitudes of up to 103 meters. As to mobile cranes, the offer also included a 500-tonnes crane. However, the highlight of the lifting equipment were two LR1750 with a maximum lifting capacity of 750 tonnes and the 1,000-tonnes crane with the name LR11000.
