Prestigious award for top entrepreneur Johannes Hödlmayr

On the occasion of his 60th birthday, the entrepreneur Johannes Hödlmayr MBA from Schwertberg was given the Upper Austrian silver badge of honour, handed over by the Governor Josef Pühringer at a ceremony in the Redoutensäle in Linz, on January 18.

“This award should be thanks and appreciation for your life achievement. As a successful entrepreneur and a recognized stakeholder you were a model and example of what becomes possible through innovation, commitment and motivation of employees,” said the Governor.

With straightforwardness and assertiveness, Johannes Hödlmayr has made a name as Chairman of the transport division in the Upper Austrian Economic Chamber and as Deputy Federal Chairman of the division. In his function as CEO of Hödlmayr International AG, and with his unerring sense for the industry, he made his company reach its goals, even through economically difficult times, Josef Pühringer said in his speech.

After graduating from the commercial school Johann Hödlmayr joined the family enterprise to support his father, where he passed through all stations from office work to driving. 30 years ago he took over the management and made the company today’s international group, which he is heading as CEO. Hödlmayr International AG generated annual sales of around EUR 270 million in 2016, transported 1.75 million vehicles and employs 1,800 persons in 16 European countries. With 340 employees in Schwertberg, the company is one of the largest employers in the district of Perg.

Because of his expertise and high level of commitment Johannes Hödlmayr was appointed to a number of responsible or leading functions: in the ECG (European Car-transport Group of interest), the Upper Austrian cluster and the Export Club of JKU. Furthermore he is also Chairman of the association “Netzwerk Logistik”, Board Member at the University of Applied Sciences Logistikum in Steyr, Chairman of the transport division of the Upper Austrian Economic Chamber, Member of the Bureau and the Economic Parliament of the Upper Austrian Economic Chamber, Vice Federal Section Chairman of the transport division of the Austrian Economic Chamber, and Member of the Federal Section Conference and the Economic Parliament of the Austrian Economic Chamber.
