Rail Cargo Operator connects Northern Italy and Romania

In the course of implementing customised transport and logistics solutions Rail Cargo Operator, the Rail Cargo Group’s intermodal division, launches a new service between Northern Italy and Romania, which will be operated three times a week. From 19 June 2017 the intermodal rail connection will be operated between Verona and Arad. The transit time is less than 40 hours. Depending on the market demand, the frequency of the departures can be increased to five rounds per week.

The major goods flows between the Northern Italian industrial region and Romania are still carried out on the road. However, intermodal transport offers great potential for this route in particular. The new RCO rail service offers a competitive transit time from the Interporto Quadrante Europa di Verona terminal and the Arad railport, and hence an attractive alternative for all combined transport boxes. All container types, tanks, swap bodies and (mega) trailers will be accepted for transport.
