Road Services division shows growth at Geis Group

Geis to start operating new terminal in Fulda by the end of April; record turnover in the financial year 2014 thanks to company aquisitions

Geis Group closes the 2014 financial year with a record turnover; Road Services division shows the strongest growth

For the Geis Group the 2014 financial year was marked by the network expansion: In January the internationally operating logistics provider expanded its Polish network by taking over Logwin Solutions Poland. In the middle of the year the new logistics centre in Seubtendorf, Thuringia started operation. And in September the Satteldorf branch became active in a modern transshipment terminal.

Geis continues on this course also in the fiscal year 2015: The acquisitions of ET Logistik and K-EX at the start of this year enabled Geis to offer groupage and parcel services, as well as full contract logistics coverage in Poland. Also in Germany Geis is expanding its own capacities: In Fulda/Eichenzell a new transshipment terminal will be officially put into operation at the end of April. „We had a very successful start into the year 2015 and continue to invest in the expansion of our Central European network“, announced the Managing Partners Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis.

The Geis Group has concluded the past fiscal year with record sales: in 2014 the internationally operating logistics provider achieved net sales of EUR 912.6 million (up 8.7 per cent year-on-year). „Our expectations for the 2014 financial year were fully met,“ said the two Managers. Road Services was the most successful business division with a sales increase of 14.1 per cent. Logistics Services and Air + Sea Services remained almost constant.

Parallel to sales, the number of employees grew: On 31 December 2014 the group’s 104 locations throughout Europe employed 4,952 persons – that’s 288 more than in 2013. Last year the Geis employees handled 17,89 million transport and logistics orders. This represents an increase of 21.9 per cent year-on-year. The transported tonnage increased – by almost a million tonnes to 5.32 million tonnes (up 22.9 per cent).
