K+N starts work on Singapore logistics centre

Kuehne + Nagel has started construction of a build-to-suit logistics centre in Singapore, with more than 460,000 sq ft dedicated warehouse-space.

The facility will have 55 loading bays, five floors dedicated to storage, and in excess of 460,000 sq ft of warehouse floor area. Of this, 200,000 sq ft will be dedicated to cold storage, managing temperature-sensitive goods for pharmaceutical and
 healthcare customers. The remaining space will cater for aerospace, spare parts and hi-tech products. Offices will be allocated 40,000 sq ft.

Karl Gernandt, Kuehne + Nagel chairman, said: “Our investment in this modern facility is one of the largest outside Europe
and it reflects both the importance of Singapore as a business location
and its significance for the Kuehne + Nagel network.”

Construction is set to be completed by the end of 2015.
