Waberer’s to purchase 120 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks

Europe’s FTL specialist Waberer’s International returns to Mercedes Benz by ordering trucks specifically designed for long-haul transportation services

The first quota of the fleet of 120 new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks has been delivered to further expand and renew the fleet of Waberer’s International Pte. Co., currently consisting of 3,300 vehicles. The ignition keys of the trucks were handed over in the framework of a ceremony to Chairman-CEO György Wáberer by Ulrich Bastert, Daimler AG Head Sales and Marketing. With the event held at the Mercedes-Benz Kecskemét Plant, the two Companies launched a new era of their business relationship: having expanded its supplier portfolio, Waberer’s now returned to the brand of the three-pointed star after a narrow decade.

“Beyond the vehicles’ sophisticated technology, reliability and premium quality, the primary reason of our decision in favour of the latest Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks has been their ability to secure high-level comfort and work safety for our drivers” – said Mr. Wáberer on the occasion of the delivery ceremony. He added: “As Europe’s FTL specialist, our Company has focused on long-haul freight transportation. Our truck-trailers deliver the goods of our customers to an average distance of 1,500 kilometres. A trip, sometimes taking several days, requires immense concentration as well as diligent work to comply with the meticulously scheduled route plan; to this end, we have traditionally provided the best working conditions to our more than 4,000 drivers. From now on, these include the latest, safe, and most spacious cab available on the market, supplied to us by Mercedes-Benz.”

At delivery of the trucks, Ulrich Bastert emphasized: “We are delighted to work together again with Waberer’s International Pte. Co. on the occasion of such a significant investment. This is another example of custom solutions by Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Hungária Kft. and Pappas Auto Hungary Ltd., because a fleet acquisition of this scale is not an everyday task.”

The new vehicles have been specifically designed to meet the requirements of long-haul transportation; their custom configuration was made with strict consideration to Waberer’s scope of activity. Services tailored to the needs of customers are characteristic to both Mercedes-Benz Hungária Kft. as a national brand distributor, and Pappas Auto Hungary Kft. as a dealer. Attentive service is by no means unprecedented in the history of the Companies, as they have already fulfilled orders for special transportation solutions. Apart from building and importing the fleet, the two partners have taken care of the maintenance and technical preparation as well.

The 450-hp engines of the Euro 6 compliant, brand new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks are equipped with high-pressure fuel injector, controlled water pump, an injection system using 40 per cent. less AdBlue additive than the earlier model, as well as other innovative technology solutions in order to maximize efficiency, including advanced engine controlling systems. Sophisticated exhaust gas post-treatment solutions serve maximum efficiency and lowest fuel consumption. Road safety is supported by state-of-the-art technology like ABS, EBS, disc brakes, vehicle stability control, Active Break Assist and Proximity Control Assist systems.
