WienCont adds three state-of-the art reachstackers to its “fleet”

Strong 2014 results expected at the Vienna Freudenau container terminal; three new reachstackers to guarantee faster and more efficient transhipment processes

Despite a challenging economic situation WienCont, a company of the port of Vienna, is expecting a strong result at the Vienna Freudenau container terminal for 2014. Against this background the company expands its “transhipment fleet” by adding three state-of-the art reachstackers. The biggest new acquisition, a full container reachstacker – 11.7 m long, 4.2 m wide, 4.6 m high, weighing about 77 tonnes and an engine output of 261 KW – has a lifting capacity of 45 tonnes and a maximum lifting height of about 16.5 m.

Moreover the device has some additional technical features. Thus a newly developed RMI monitoring system records all routes, allowing for a route optimisation as well as a faster and more efficient workflow. Apart from three gantry crane bridges the company now has six full container reachstackers, eight empty container stackers and three giant forklifts.

In addition to the 60,000 m² location in the port of Vienna, WienCont runs also sites in Graz, Wels and Villach. The company operates also in the segments of container trade, rental, storage and repair. Their customers include shipping, leasing and forwarding companies.
