Zufall logistics group puts its data centre into specialist hands

Outsourcing of data centre and network services to increase service level of Zufall logistics group

Operational services GmbH & Co. KG (OS), a joint venture of T-Systems and Fraport, takes over the operation of the data centre and the provision of network services for Friedrich Zufall GmbH & Co. KG with immediate effect. Managed ICT Services and infrastructure services, in particular for Windows and AIX servers, storage, firewall, internet and VPN connections will be provided from the OS data centre in Frankfurt am Main.

The full range logistics provider has been successfully operating in the market since 1928 and has about 1,900 employees today. Its development is based on a high degree of personnel customer support and a convincing performance in the business segments of transport, industry and contract logistics. Customer friendly service is a paramount of the Zufall brand.

To meet this demand, even in highly modern 24/7 logistics chains, Zufall has decided to charge a professional ICT service provider with the operation of the data centre including network services. Michael Tillner, CEO Zufall Logistics Group: “We are an active logistics company, whose services require highly available and secure information and communication flows. In order to advance our future growth, we need an ICT partner at eye level, who we can trust. With operational services, we have found the partner we have been looking for.”

Taking over the operation of the data centre and provision of managed ICT services Zufall receives dedicated emergency care through redundant infrastructure and has access to dynamic resources with short provisioning times. The services (infrastructure and staff) are fully provided from Germany and are subject to special security procedures against loss or misuse.

In the 2014 financial year the Zufall logistics group has again achieved growth: Revenue rose by 3.7 per cent to EUR 281.8 Million  (2013: EUR 271.7 million) compared to 2013. The transport volume has increased as well – from 4.1 million in 2013 to 4.3 million shipments.
