Logistics Manager understands that Amazon is to be the occupier behind a massive new warehouse under construction in Redditch, West Midlands.

The 366,414 sq ft  warehouse  is being built by Stoford at its 78-acre Redditch Gateway scheme in the town.

Known as Unit A Gorcott, the building will have 16.2m eaves as well as a 328,300 sq ft warehouse with an adjoining office and welfare facility totalling 38,100 sq ft. The property is accessed via three sides with yards from 40 – 67m. It has 102 dock levellers as well as 4 van and two level access doors. There is parking for 125 HGVs and 470 cars.

While Amazon has yet to confirm that it has pre-let the facility, earlier this year local MP Rachel Maclean in a debate about 5G in the House of Commons noted that: “Amazon is poised to bring highly skilled, digital and tech jobs to our fantastic town.”

Construction at the site is well underway and it is thought that the internet giant will move in at the beginning of 2021.

The scheme is located just off Junction 3 of the M42 motorway. There are two plots remaining for design and build of units from 150,000 – 260,000 sq ft

Joint letting agents are Colliers, Savills and Burbage Realty.
