Amazon snaps up two warehouses in as many weeks
Amazon has continued its acquisitive streak from 2020 with the acquisition of two new warehouses in Birmingham and Bristol.
The internet retailer is rumoured to be the tenent behind the letting of NEXUS122, a 121,839 sq ft warehouse in Birmingham, which it will use as a delivery station to deal with the increase in parcel deliveries to meet customer demand.
NEXUS122 has 109,862 sq ft of warehouse space with 5,990 sq ft of office space accommodation. It has four docks and seven level access doors.
Meanwhile in Bristol, the internet giant is rumoured to be poised to take Logicor’s 316,128 sq ft WA316 warehouse which is being marketed by JLL, Knight Frank, and Savills.
The distribution warehouse facility has 13.5m clear internal height, seven dock levellers, and 14 level access doors. The site benefits from a 60m yard depth, with 100 lorry parking spaces and 174 car parking spaces.
It is situated in Western Approach between Junction 1 of the M48 and Junction 18 of the M5, with frontage to the M49.
The property was only put on the market at the beginning of December 2020. Amazon intends to use the facility as one of its new style parcel delivery hubs.
