CargoLine general cargo cooperative thwarts hackers

Implementation of information security system according to ISO/IEC 27001 with the CargoLine general cargo cooperative

To permanently protect all data and ensure smooth shipment process, the partner companies of the CargoLine cargo cooperative implemented comprehensive and consistent information security measures in accordance with ISO / IEC 27001. The corresponding internal certification will be issued in spring 2012. CargoLine is the first general cargo alliance, which works according to this high standard. The initiative aims to prevent damage in the millions, caused by power failure, a hard drive crash, disgruntled employees or a "hacker" attack.

The cargo cooperative has put the following processes under constant review: order entry and processing, including planning and preparation of documents, data communication with customers, partners and suppliers, the handling including hall scanning, as well as in and and outgoing of shipments. The study includes the necessary IT platforms and their operation, storage and backup management, internal network infrastructure consisting of active network components and firewalls, the VPN of the data center Niederaula, as well as monitoring and management to support the applications.

The internal security management team and regular security audits ensure information security and the implementation of all necessary measures. The latter are carried out by auditors of the independent engineering office Reinhard F. Reichl.
