CEVA Logistics automates picking processes in Belgian facility with Geek+ AMRs

CEVA Logistics has implemented a solution from technology company Geek+ in its warehouse in Grobbendonk, Belgium. The 50,000m² facility is part of a fulfilment and distribution operation that CEVA runs for ‘an iconic footwear company’.

The warehouse is now equipped with a fleet of 27 Geek+ P-Series picking robots and five workstations. The automated mobile robots (AMRs) have a 1,000kg payload and operate at a maximum speed of 2 m/sec.

CEVA says that the goods-to-person solution devised by the two companies ‘provides a high degree of flexibility, quick integration into the existing operations, and can handle daily volumes of more than 10,000 outbound items’.

“The Geek+ solution is a great fit for our operation in Grobbendonk, providing a more comfortable working environment for on-site employees, while at the same time handling a far greater order volume.”

This expands on the existing relationship between CEVA and Geek+, with Geek+ robots having been introduced in a CEVA warehouse in Australia, which the firm says is one of ‘the largest distribution centres in the southern hemisphere’.
