CMA CGM in negotiations for Bolloré Logistics acquisition

The CMA CGM group has announced that it is in ‘exclusive negotiations’ with Bolloré Group over the acquisition of Bolloré Logistics.

CMA CGM submitted an offer to acquire Bolloré’s transport and logistics activities on 18 April, reportedly to the value of €5 million.

The two groups are currently in ‘preliminary discussions’, with Bolloré saying that if the offer were to be accepted, it would take several months to finalise.

In December, another major logistics firm, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), acquired Bolloré Africa Logistics, as reported by Logistics Manager. The shipping and logistics solutions provider took over Bolloré Group’s logistics operations in Africa, finalising the deal a year after the initial offer was made.

Bolloré Logistics operates in 146 countries, with 83 partners, 358 sites, and 15,000 employees. It has 900,000 storage warehouses and moves 390,000 tons of air freight and 710,000 TEUs of ocean freight.

Its services include Multimodal Transport, Trade Compliance, Contract Logistics, Global Supply Chain, Industrial Projects, E-commerce, and Customer Value.

An acquisition could see the joining of Bolloré Logistics and CEVA Logistics, CMA CGM’s subsidiary focused on supply chain management.

CEVA Logistics was acquired by CMA CGM in April 2019 as part of an ‘ambitious transformation plan to serve customers with world-class logistics services’.
