DPD and Hermes consider enhancing cooperation

Hermes and DPD analyse options for more intense cooperation

Hermes Logistik Group (HLG) and the DPD parcel service consider intensifying their cooperation that was so far restricted to several subjects. They are e.g. examining the option of offering a corporate service portfolio, and the synergies resulting from the mutual use of the existing infrastructure and transportation capacities within the partnership. The first results of the negotiations are expected to be issued by mid-2009, as the two companies announced in a press release.

”Acting as a service provider with a subject focus in the B2B-segment, we expect the intensified cooperation to cut costs and provide added values that were so far not available on the market for the customers. The services and the strengths of our enterprises are complementary in many fields. We will investigate the starting points resulting thereof“, Arnold Schroven, CEO of DPD Dynamic Parcel Distribution GmbH & Co. KG, explained.

“We have been collaborating successfully with DPD in several different fields since many years. We are now investigating the options how to adapt our services to each other, in order to offer our clients integrated B2C- and B2B-dispatch solutions from one source, and hence to meet the market requirements more accurately“, says Hanjo Schneider, CEO of Hermes Europa Holding.

The target of the possible partnership between Hermes Logistik Group and DPD would be a comprehensive solution for all logistic requirements, based on a cooperatively operated international transportation network combined with the mutual use of the conjointly operated infrastructures.
