Duvenbeck is taking initiatives to bind drivers on the long term

Modern human resources concept with Duvenbeck Logistics for low fluctuation and high satisfaction of the drivers

Given the high demands on professional drivers through narrow time windows, crowded parking lots and congested streets, the logistics provider Duvenbeck has developed a driver-oriented human resources policy. Through this concept, combined with timely wage payments, the owner-managed companies provides for a high level of satisfaction among its employees. The package of measures includes ongoing training in the Duvenbeck Academy, comfortable work clothes as well as a modern and safe fleet of vehicles.

„Satisfied drivers are a part of our strategy,“ said company owner Thomas Duvenbeck. Eventually most of the companies revenue is generated with trucks. Personal appearance and motivation of the drivers ultimately decide upon success. „Everybody will be treated well in our company, for which I stand by my name,“ says the businessman. A very low churn rate, and a great loyalty of its drivers on the company were confirming his statemend.

The generous use of education and training is based on Duvenbeck’s own academy. The course offerings range from training to professional drivers (CCI) and the five modules of the professional driver qualification according to the professional driver qualification law (BKrFQG) to training for forklift operators. Seminars for securing the load, eco-training with defined reference paths and instruction on „driving and rest times“ as well as the correct handling of the digital tachograph complete the program.

To meet the increasing demands on the quality of their drivers and the legal requirements of BKrFQG, the Duvenbeck group has recruited 15 driver trainers already. The success is also reflected in a sharp drop of the diesel consumption.

The Duvenbeck group from Bocholt, Germany, is a medium-sized logistics service provider with main activities in the automotive and supplier industry, the plastics and beverages industry. Together with its customers Duvenbeck developed innovative and effective approaches for sustainable logistics. As an associate Thomas Duvenbeck (47) represents the third generation of the traditional and owner-managed family business.

Currently the Group employs more than 4,000 persons, who have generated around EUR 350 million in sales in 2012. Most of the revenue comes from the transport business, which is conducted with more than 1,200 own trucks. In addition to Germany, the company operates its own branches in Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
