Duvenbeck makes agricultural machinery-croesus Claas happy
German logistics company Duvenbeck serves eight Claas branches in Europe and „earns“ therefore the Supplier of the Year award 2014
Claas, the international agricultural machinery group, has honoured the Duvenbeck corporate group as supplier of the year in the category of logistics. Pia and Thomas Duvenbeck accepted the Supplier of the Year Award 2014 recently in the course of the 11th Day of the Supplier by Claas in the presence of about 700 guests.
According to Claas „the high degree of motivation, a very good and fair cooperation as well as transparent processes and prices“ had been decisive for this award. They were highly estimating Duvenbeck as a strategic partner, who brings in proposals for improvement and further develops inbound processes together with the plants. In this segment Duvenbeck was „one of the most innovative service providers in the market“.
Since 2013 Duvenbeck has been providing comprehensive logistics services for eight Claas locations in Europe. The focus is on procurement logistics for the production plants of different Claas businesses in Germany, France and Hungary. In Germany Duvenbeck uses 80 daily trucks for procurement and direct delivery of goods to the plants in Harsewinkel, Paderborn, Hamm, Gütersloh and Bad Saulgau. In addition, they transport goods to and from Le Mans and Woippy, France and Törökszentmiklos in Hungary.
Every day Duvenbeck transports more than 1,000 tonnes of production materials from all over Germany. In addition to full and part loads they also carry general cargo. For the plants in Germany and Woipppy Duvenbeck guarantees delivery within 24 hours after collection. 48 hours were agreed for Le Mans and Törökszentmiklós. Providing the suppliers with charge carriers and pool empties and the management of a trailer yard in Harsewinkel are also included in the service package. The logistics concept also provides for a trailer swap in the Harsewinkel and Hamm plants, where full trailers are exchanged for empties.
Consolidation is carried out at the Duvenbeck sites in Rheda Wiedenbrück, Schwaig, Peine, Duisburg, and Bochum. At the Duvenbeck site in Rheda Wiedenbrück 200 tonnes of material are handled per day. From there, 20 employees assume the entire support of the Claas plants including service, dispatching, scheduling and loading equipment and inventory management. The site is daily open from 6 am. to 10 pm. in two shifts.
