Electric cargo trike gets market approval

The RadBurro electric cargo trike from Rad Power Bikes has received L2e-U type-approval and is set to make its European debut in June at the CiTTi exhibition at Arena MK on the 18th and 19th June 2019.

The RadBurro electric cargo trike allows for 1,500-watts of clean electric power, 200Nm of torque and has a 65-130+ km range per charge with a top speed of 35km/h.

It has a 52.5Ah (2.52kWh) hot-swappable long-range battery, large carrying capacity and has a manoeuvrable frame with adaptable flatbed, truck bed and cargo box configurations.

The trike also features five levels of intelligent pedal assistance; on-demand twist-grip throttle, rear view mirrors, steering lock, and horn; motorcycle grade wheels, tires, and suspension fork; as well as integrated safety lights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals.

RadBurro was first launched in North America in 2018 and is deployed by food companies, facility managers, urban cargo haulers, government and municipal organisations, and many more.

“We built the RadBurro to be a realistic, versatile, and affordable last-mile alternative that can help solve many of the transportation challenges that businesses and government programs face today,” said Rad Power Bikes European commercial specialist Teun Kruijff.  “This type-approval means we can bring a powerful, proven solution to customers across Europe who are working to improve their operations and eliminate their carbon emissions.”
