Firethorn secures planning for North West warehouse scheme

Commercial real estate investor and developer, Firethorn Trust, has secured planning permission to regenerate a 42.5-acre brownfield site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire into a 700,000ft2 logistics park.

Firethorn acquired the site from Peel Ports Group in November 2020. Planning approval has now been granted for Link Logistics Park, creating approximately 800 jobs for the local region.

As groundworks at the speculative scheme near completion, construction is due to commence on site in January 2022, with delivery expected within 10 months by Q4 2022.

Paul Martin, Development Director at Firethorn Trust, said: “Delivered as net-zero carbon in construction, with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ specification, we look forward to transforming this brownfield site into a modern and sustainable industrial development, which is expected to attract significant interest from major occupiers.

Joint letting agents are CBRE, B8 Real Estate, and Moriarty & Company.
