Gazeley set to build 750,000 sq ft warehouse scheme in Leicestershire

Developer investor Gazeley is set to submit plans for a 750,000 sq ft warehouse scheme in Ashby de La Zouche, Leicestershire in March.

It has currently presented a scoping proposal to North West Leicestershire Council seeking pre-planning for the 74-acre site

The Proposed Scheme will be operational 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.

At this time construction, following attainment of appropriate planning permissions, is anticipated to commence in the summer of 2019 and be completed in autumn 2020 (i.e. approximately 15 months). It will be operational by autumn 2020.

Part of the site falls within the boundary of an existing planning permission for a similar commercial scheme approved on 16 July, 2012. Since then a portion of the site was earmarked for HS2 and the new proposed scheme is smaller in size.

The company bought the 66-acre site for £19 million last year.
