Goodman hits carbon neutral goal four years ahead of target

Real estate developer and investor Goodman has achieved carbon neutrality for its global operations – four years ahead of its 2025 target.

Charles Crossland, Managing Director for the UK at Goodman, said: “As an organisation, we’re proud to have achieved our global carbon neutrality goal four years ahead of target.

“Increasingly, customers require efficient and sustainably designed properties that make a positive contribution towards a more sustainable future. Our goals align with these aspirations, supporting them to minimise the carbon footprint of their operations, as well as reflecting our wider ambition to take profound action on climate change.

“From supporting the transition to electric vehicle fleets, to expanding our rooftop solar installations and minimising construction waste, we’re offsetting environmental impact at every opportunity.”

In the UK, sites across London, the South East and the Midlands, as well as Goodman’s own sustainability initiatives, have played a key role in achieving the global target ahead of schedule. All new-build UK developments are being delivered with a full rooftop array of solar photovoltaics.

At Goodman’s Crossways Commercial Park scheme in Dartford, this equates to a total system of 2,190 kWp across all three units. In addition, work recently began to deliver Purfleet 338, a highly sustainable 338,267 ft2 logistics warehouse featuring roof-mounted solar PV, rainwater harvesting, infrastructure for electric vehicle fleets and smart metering.
