Gophr expects surge in last mile deliveries as football fans favour festive food
A survey carried out by the on-demand delivery service asked 2,000 football fans in the UK what their plans were for food during the World Cup. It showed that 54% plan to pre-order food ahead of matches.
As football fever and Christmas spirit collide, many fans want to indulge in festive food while watching the football. According to the survey, 18% of UK football fans plan to have turkey while watching play unfold and 16% are looking forward to match day mince pies.
Seb Robert, Chief Executive and Founder of Gophr, said: âThis is going to be a World Cup like no other. Not only is it being hosted in far-flung Qatar, but it will be during the festive period â one of the busiest times of the year for delivery.â
He continued: âIt makes sense then that Christmas food and snacks are making an appearance on the match day lineup, and the delivery sector is going to have to be on its A-game for an even busier period than usual.â
