Grimaldi acquires majority of Minoan Lines

 
Minoan Lines evolves to a subsidiary of Grimalid Group (Naples) 

From now on the Ro/Ro-shipping activities of the Grimaldi Group are based on three strong brands. In addition to Grimaldi Lines and Finnlines the Italian shipping group now also comprises the Greek Minoan Lines company. The Grimaldi Group is now holding 84.82 percent of the shares. Last year Minoan Lines operated six RoRo-vessels on the routes between the Greek continent, the island of Crete and Italy. Together they transported 1.57 million passengers, 283,000 cars and 153,000 trailers. Based in Naples, the Grimaldi Group has 8,000 employees and generates an annual turnover of EUR 2.5 billion. With this figures they count among the globally leading Ro/Ro operators in the world. Last year the whole group delployed 127 vessels and transported 2.4 million passengers, about 2.8 million cars and 1.8 million trucks, trailers and containers.
