Healthcare distributor secures purpose-built warehouse

PCT Healthcare has secured a build-to-suit warehouse at Horizon 29, a scheme being developed by Bolsover Land – a joint venture between St Francis Group and ALMCOR.

The opportunity to purchase the 113,872ft2 facility allows PCT Healthcare (trading as Peak Pharmacy) to consolidate its depots into a purpose-built unit. “By incorporating automation into this site, the patient journey that our pharmacies will be able to offer should greatly improve,” said Joe Cattee of PCT. “NHSE has a continued drive to encourage the prioritising of patient led services within community pharmacy, and by relocating to this site, we can take a proportion of repeat dispensing out of our estate, to free-up time (and capacity) to focus on both NHS and private-led services.

“The possibility of relocation to this site completely revolutionises how Peak Pharmacy operates. The pressures on the business over the past 18 months have been extreme to say the least, and by having the capability to locate all our supply depots into one location, and free-up capacity across our pharmacy network, our colleagues and patients should see these pressures reduced and a better service, and atmosphere for both should follow.”

Horizon 29, just off Junction 29 of the M1 motorway in Derbyshire, East Midlands, will consist eight warehouses ranging in size from 73,174-250,000ft2.

The deal follows the recent sale by the JV of 80 acres of land to BentallGreenoak for the speculative development of 1.2 million ft2 of warehouse and logistics space as reported by Logistics Manager in January this year.

CBRE and Knight Frank are joint agents. Jack McCabe, senior consultant at WT Gunson, acted for PCT Healthcare.
