Hermes opens pop up depot
Hermes UK has opened a pop-up distribution depot at Meteor Park, Aston in Birmingham to handle parcels during the Christmas period.
The 112,825 ft2 unit has 12m eaves as well as 8 docks and two level access doors. It has a 50kn/m floor loading as well as a 50m yard.
Michael Duffy, depot manager, said: “It has been an unprecedented year for the parcel delivery industry and with the festive season fast approaching it’s fantastic to be opening a new depot for Hermes. This pop-up depot will allow us to provide much needed job opportunities within Birmingham during these uncertain times.”
The new facility will be able to handle over 120,000 parcels each day, and can operate 24/7 as needed.
