International expansion with trans-o-flex
Step-by-step the Österreichische Post AG (Austrian Post) adds all its holdings of the parcel & logistics division that are operating with business customers (B2B) to the enterprise, which is operating under the brand name trans-o-flex and has three focusses: pharmaceuticals, combined freight and Europe. “The trans-o-flex brand will stand for European standard products based on special solutions and combined freight services“, Carl-Gerold Mende, CEO of the Austrian Post parcel & logistics division, announced last week in Frankfurt. Mr. Mende wants to accelerate the expansion of logistics solutions and quality standards of trans-o-flex throughout Europe. For example in a first step the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods between 2° and 8°C will be also offered throughout the Benelux countries by January 2009. At the moment this service is available throughout Germany and Austria. Further important actions are the standardisation of the IT-systems and the step-by-step expansion of the trans-o-flex brand name. In the other European countries the offer is provided by trans-o-flex partners in the Eurodis-network, who are also using an IT-platform of trans-o-flex. “With this structure we add value to the services for existing and future-clients, by expanding the trans-o-flex services towards further markets which enables us to offer solutions throughout Europe. “, said Mr. Mende. Since June 2008 trans-o-flex has been a 100%-subsidiary of Austrian Post. With 1,122 employees and an annual turnover of EUR 500 million, the whole company counts among the leading providers of combined freight services in Europe. The enterprise implements customised logistics concepts and developed numerous specialised sector solutions, as e.g. for the pharmaceutical industry, the consumer electronics and household appliances sector.
